Thanks for joining me for another edition of Manicure Monday. I’m posting much later than usual but it’s still Monday so I am still sticking to my schedule!
I picked up this Minx set a few months ago at Ulta. Minx used to be a salon only service but they now make an at home version of the product. I’ve been wanting to try Minx so I was excited to find these on sale. Here’s what the packaging looks like.
I chose the Technical Tribal print. The set comes with 16 manicure strips, 12 pedicure strips and 2 alcohol wipes to prep the nails.
Technical Tribal is a shiny, mirror-like metallic tribal print of golds, magenta and black.
I do love this pattern but for the price (Minx sets retail for $18 at Ulta) I would rather buy Kiss Nail Dress (retails for around $8). I didn’t think Minx was any higher quality than Kiss to constitute the higher price. No matter how hard I tried I ended up with wrinkles at the tips of nearly every nail. The wrinkles are driving me nuts and they are already starting to peel back because of the wrinkles. The package said to rub the minx to warm it before removing it from the plastic and placing it on my nails. Next time I am going to try warming it with a blow dryer for a few seconds before applying instead of just warming it with my hands. I did warm them with the blow dryer after applying to try to get the wrinkles out but that didn’t work. Since Minx comes with 16 manicure strips you only have enough strips to do one complete mani but I like to add them to a plain manicure as an accent nail like I did HERE with Kiss Nail Dress. You can also check out a review I did on Kiss Nail Dress HERE. I’m curious to see how long these will last.
Have you tried Minx (at home or in a salon)? If so, what did you think?
Have a safe and happy New Years everyone!!
